The Practical Division is a USPSA
affiliated club (Area 2) and shoots on the
2nd Sunday of each month. Please check the calendar for exact time, as it
changes with the seasons. At a regular monthly match there are generally
4-6 stages, including a USPSA classifier. Some months there is also a rifle
or
shotgun match after the main match.
The Practical Division also shoots an
informal Steel Challenge match on the first Saturday of each
month. There are generally 4-5 stages at this match.
This division sponsors a 2-day match in the spring for
scholarships. The
Annual
Scholarship Match is generally held in mid-March. This
match is limited to 120
shooters
and is know for its fun stages, relaxed
atmosphere and the offer of a
Mulligan. Shooters from all the surrounding
states are known to be here. New
shooters
and spectators are welcome at
all the matches. Eye and ear protection are
required.
Directions to Range
Eastbound from
California on I-8 Take the 16th Street Exit to 16th Street
which is also Highway 95.
Turn East on Highway 95 and proceed 15 miles
east of Yuma.
Adair Shooting Park turnoff is marked by a
sign on the left side of the road.
Westbound from
Phoenix / Tucson area on I-8 Take Fortuna Exit, which is the second
exit after crossing the mountains.
Turn right on Fortuna Road and follow for
approximately 3 miles to Highway 95.
Turn right on Highway 95 and proceed for
approximately 5-6 miles to the Adair
Shooting Park turnoff.
Once you leave Highway
95, the Match Master range is approximately
2 miles into the park. The Ranger Station
marks the entrance to the PPC and pistol
range.
The road splits to the left to go to the PPC
range and also to the pistol range.
Proceeding straight will lead to a circular
drive and meets the left hand split in the
road.
